Telugu Movies English Subtitles! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is only two movies long, but what movies! Big oil company propaganda having a heart! Just the free movie we'd like for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one with the most lyrical American films available. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry from the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of an Cajun boy and the family, living on the bayous in such a way of life that individuals can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land for the oil company, which comes in, drills, and instead gives off everything just like it was, clean and unspoiled except that the family features a little more money. (Yes, it was funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends nearly all of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating over the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, together with his pet raccoon. He never wears a life preserver or shoes... doesn't even have a cell phone to speak to case he gets struggling. There is not much story, just a celebration (such stunning black and white photography that you may well wonder exactly what the big deal is all about color) of the way of life that's no longer around.
All of the actors were amateurs, and then for most, this is their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who totally boy, was surviving in a FEMA trailer along with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their property. (source). He had an opportunity at fame inside movies, but that they stayed where he was from and apparently knew as a kid an appreciation of family (a married relationship of over 50 years) reflects why I consider The Louisiana Story a proper free movie for just one of our most family-friendly holidays.

A monochrome silent film that ends using a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, precisely what every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have 3 good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc on this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever produced. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died thinking that the last copy ended up destroyed. In a little weirdness that sounds more like a movie compared to truth, a nearly complete print is discovered in 1981 inside a janitor's closet of an Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful that individuals can watch this magnificent film, on many lists with the greatest films in recent history, totally free online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a psychological breakdown during the making of the film, and she never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, asserted Falconetti's performance "may function as the finest performance ever concerning film."
