Top Movie Free Download Sites! Are you a motion picture fan who loves to know all the info? Are you a TV aficionado who can name the locales of shows? Then the Spott app for Android is merely for you. Learn more about the app that will give your entertainment knowledge the street cred you need.
I will. I have useless entertainment knowledge. I'm anybody my friends visit when they need to find out the name of the show which has a particular theme song or what the naming of that character was who appeared to be Shaggy from Scooby Doo but handled a car (the result, FYI, is Tinker and the show was Speed Buggy, which has been one of the many 'mysteries inc' cartoon imitators with the 60s and 70s).
While within an everyday setting, this useless knowledge is, well...useless, guess who's having the call when someone provides the option to phone a pal from a game show set. Oh yeah. Me.
But sometimes my useless entertainment knowledge can fail me. Often, I might not know a better solution to a question in regards to the location of a motion picture or film (gasp!). Lucky personally and you other entertainment lovers on the market, Android developers knew any particular one day, at some remote time in the day, we'd want to know this stuff.
So they made an app.
Spott is definitely an Android app from Inochi Ventures that permits you to learn more about your selected films and TV that was made within your own personal backyard. Using your phone's GPS system, Spott allows users either to browse by movie/show or their location to find out interesting details of that movie, show, or actors.
For example, Stapleton International Airport (now Denver IA) was manchester international in the movie "Die Hard 2" with Bruce Willis. Up until recently, I had no idea that the hotel in the movie "Dumb and Dumber" been the Stanley Hotel, that has been also the inspiration and setting for Stephen King's popular book and movie, "The Shining".
Along with giving users the opportunity to see their town in a very whole new way, a movies through the app, plus you can send in your personal photo from a famous locale where you live.
The interface for Spott is simple to manuever around - it is possible to choose movies or shows by title, location, or movies that are near you. Obviously the nearby feature is the better, especially if you're traveling or recently moved. As noted, movie locations near my new capital of scotland - Denver along with the state of Colorado are pretty popular.
Another highlight is the ability to view stills from movies, though for some there aren't as many as you would find in case you did a fairly easy Google search, so when mentioned, it is possible to buy DVDs of movies in the app. While a unique concept, I'm not really certain that I want to purchase movies on the go. It would likely to end up better should you could watch said movie instead.
One disadvantage to this app is the fact that there aren't a lot of Spotts yet. For instance, being a former Tucson High Badger, my claim to fame is that this movie "Can't Buy Me Love" with pre-McDreamy Patrick Dempsey was filmed at our school, but I couldn't discover a listing when investing in my former zip code. High point though is the fact that I learned elements of Casablanca were filmed in the nearby capital of scotland- Flagstaff, it's nice to view that a classic white and black film is listed.
There is also downsides, including actor listings, which can be meh at best, however, this is when the Spotters thing is available in. Too bad this app didn't appear before I moved.
As a show and TV fan who happens to love trivia, this is a pretty good app to have if you've got an Android phone. Definitely the highlight with this app is to view a wide variety of locations of various film scenes, though I think most people will be considering where their hometown or current town factors in numerous movies and shows.
A disappointment offers some areas miss, which may be annoying for users who know a certain movie or show was filmed within their neck with the woods. But to counter this, users can supply images and upload these phones Spott. This is actually an excellent social interaction that gets fans involved as they proudly showcase their cities and states.
I think a major let down will be the fact that this app isn't free; with just a small amount of information, this ought to be a free app that gets upgraded to cover more expenses (like the opportunity to buy and download movies). Luckily, the purchase price isn't too hefty -- just a dollar and some change, so it might actually be really worth the purchase if only to hope Inochi increases the app with fan interaction and loyalty.
You will get the app here from the Android Market.
